Military Medical Malpractice Attorney Dean Swartz

Mr. Swartz possesses a military and legal background that leaves little wonder as to his choice of practice areas. From 1971 until 1988, Attorney Swartz served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, on active duty from 1974 through 1978, ultimately achieving the rank of Major.

While on active duty, he served at Headquarters United States Marine Corps (HQMC) and was assigned to the Office of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) of the Navy in Washington, DC. In this capacity he served in the Torts and Claims Branch defending the United States in medical malpractice, aviation, and general negligence claims and litigation. As a lawyer with an AV rating which denotes the highest marks by Martindale-Hubbell, a respected lawyer's review organization in a complicated field of law, Mr. Swartz has garnered the respect of peers, judges, and clients alike.

Military Medical Malpractice Lawyer Barry S. Reed

Doctor Reed applies a legal and medical background to our practice at Swartz & Reed, LLP. As a former Senior Assistant Surgeon with the United States Public Health Service (equivalent to the rank of Commander in the US Navy) from 1972 through 1974, Dr. Reed possesses first-hand knowledge of military medical protocol.

His tenure as Chief of the emergency departments at hospitals in the Maryland counties of Calvert, St. Mary's, and Charles (1976-1980) has provided invaluable insight into a broad spectrum of medical procedures as well as knowledge of the effects of misdiagnosis and medical negligence. The knowledge obtained from more than three decades as a Medical Director or Consultant Medical Director for some of the largest US and Canadian insurance companies enable him to thoroughly and accurately evaluate the financial impact of a negligently caused injury or death.
